The vinsantaia

The Vinsantaia is the flagship of Fattoria del Teso. It is located on two floors. On the first floor there are the straw mats where the grapes are laid for drying after the harvest. In the same room there is an old manual press which is still in use for pressing the grapes for the Vinsanto.

Here  we can also find the chestnut barrels of a 2 hl capacity which are used for the first phase of the production. On the second floor there is the attic which opens up on a fantastic view on the vineyards and where the old 100lt chestnut barrels (which were bought back in the seventies in an old scotch wisky distillery) are still in use for the aging.  

The aging of our unique Vinsanto is always at least for 10 years before it is bottled!
